Brrrr - the winter sets in!

I mentioned to Phill the other day that I haven't been rained on once while doing my morning walks....today I would have preferred rain!!
Boy it was cold - a really decent frost. And I have the feeling that tomorrow morning is going to be just as bad - if not worse! Plenty of layers required.
The worst part is getting a cold face! I need a balaclava - Dad used to have one and now I know why...he walked from Bellknowes to the University every day when we were kids...not super far but I bet his face got cold!

June is nearly over, and I think I've just missed my weekday walk once - maybe twice - but certainly no more than that! Soon it will be time to check up how all the Young Women got on with their challenges. And if they intend to keep it up!
Time will tell how I progress....

I'm not slacking off...

I promise!! I have been walking - I just haven't had a chance to write about it!!
Ask my husband! He's making it his personal mission to tempt me to stay in bed in the morning where it's warm and cozy - Ratbag!! Lol

Anyway - this morning I walked 15 minutes later but it was so light because the sky was clear! No low grey clouds to make Mosgiel gloomy! It was light, light blue and crystal looking. Only a few streaks of pink to indicate any clouds. Saddle Hill looked pretty -
The camera on my phone isn't really good enough to do it justice!
And to the Siuth was a blush of pinks and purples which was also pretty through the winters trees -
Again - not really what it looked like but you get the idea!

Today's food ... Oh boy - it's gonna sound bad!!!
Weatbix x 3 with hot milk and currants
Leftovers for lunch - venison stir fry with about a quarter cup of cooked rice.
Vege soup and a homemade bun for dinner, followed by two scones with jam and cream for dessert! Yummy yummy!!

Not enough fluids - again! I've really got to get on top of that one!!

It's full moon tonight and going to be frosty in the morning I reckon. Brrrrrring it on!!!!

Intake vs output

I decided that I should keep track of what I'm eating as well as the exercise I'm doing!
We are what we eat after all 😊
Some of the young women chose to cut out sugar for the month, one decided to drink more water and less fizzy, and one of the other leaders chose to cut out carbs!
I'm usually pretty good at watching what I eat but I know during the winter I tend to blob out a little bit! Too many roast meals and stodgy puddings lol.
So I thought it would be a good idea to keep a record of what I'm eating! Hope it doesn't get boring for ya lol 😄

I'll just write it in at the bottom of each day...

Day Two

Well today was wetter, but still not raining while I walked the block again.
I did notice that my shins were a little sore this morning - maybe I should stretch a bit lol
I pushed through though, and still managed to do the block in less than 30 minutes.
No sunrise to greet me this morning though. Grey skies all around.

The first day

IThe alarm went off!!!
I woke up!!!
I got up!!! Actually not till closer to 7:30 - it was just too dark to go walking alone.
I was out the door at 7:30 and off I went...
I've decided to do the block - up Bush Road, along Gordon Road, and back down Tyne Street. Takes me about 28 minutes if I'm walking briskly! I figured that's a good way to start!
It was a bit cloudy and had been raining but I stayed dry.
And I got rewarded by a beautiful sunrise when I got home

The Challenge

It all started with my Young Women having a sit down at the start of our Jumping Around in June fitness month.
I've been setting my alarm since the start of the year to get up at 7am to go for a walk or a run - it just hasn't happened!!!
So - I challenged the Young Women to institute an extra fitness or food health choice into their daily routine. In order to get the ball rolling I said that my alarm would no longer go off just to wake me up!
It's the start of something...this is my journey...
